Sacred Heart Primary School has a long tradition of providing quality, Catholic education in Morwell. The school was established in 1884 and from 1907 until 1992 was administered by nuns from the Sisters of St. Joseph order.
Sacred Heart has been extensively refurbished over the past years. In 1997 a new administration block was added and new toilets were built. In 2000 a new stair-well was built, the library was extended and central heating and air-conditioning were installed throughout the entire school. A complete refurbishment of all classrooms was completed in 2006 with teaching areas being transformed into modern, bright and comfortable learning environments. A new multipurpose room is being built in 2007, providing an area where the whole school can gather together and extra curricular activities such as drama, perceptual motor program, music etc. can take place.
Sacred Heart Primary School is a Catholic school that prides itself on the pastoral care that is offered to each child. At Sacred Heart we believe children learn best when they are happy, confident and feel safe. We value every child and teachers work to build relationships with the children and actively teach problem solving strategies and effective social and communication skills.
We aim to educate our students to be skilled, informed, tolerant, open and just, to discover God and to help them reach their full potential.
We offer a curriculum that is inclusive and allows for success. All children are encouraged and supported throughout their years at primary school. The children are exposed to strong Literacy and Numeracy teaching and learning. We also recognize the importance technology has in the world today so each class has access to the latest interactive technology with smartboards and computers in each classroom. We recognise that children have different gifts and talents and have varied learning styles.
We warmly welcome you to our school and I would be pleased to discuss any further questions that you may have.
